The neat thing is my pc can handle PS3 and Switch emulation so I can stream everything to my phone downstairs. I can stream PS5/Xbox One and PC to my phone downstairs too. That all being said I have my game room/office upstairs. I’m doing a similar thing but I purchased a Galaxy S10 that had a broken screen but the touch screen is working from eBay for $60. It's worth checking out if a charger was reviewed on /r/UsbCHardware as there are some really knowledgeable people there, like the legendary Benson Leung (/u/LaughingMan11/) or the moderator /u/chx_.
It's almost impossible to debug without a tool like this. With the Satechi, I figured out the charger would start normally, then shut down randomly after a few minutes, and returned it for a refund. I had an Anker PowerPort Atom 4 PD (the 100W dual USB-C boat anchor) and it wasn't charging my laptop or iPad correctly. It's not a full-blown USB PD analyzer, just a multimeter that will tell you what voltange and amperage is being used, but it's a good inexpensive way to monitor what is going on until you are satisfied with the compatibility.
One useful gadget to get is this little Satechi power meter. It will work with the Anker PowerPoert Atom III Slim, however. My 2016 HP Spectre 13t has only a USB-C charging port, no polar connector, and it's 45W, but it will refuse to charge from my Apple USB-C chargers. Over time the worst bugs get fixed, but it's not always possible to issue a firmware update, sometimes it is in the chips themselves. When you factor the inevitable bugs because the spec is so baroque and overly complex, there are bound to be compatibility issues. If the intersection is empty, they cannot agree and charging does not happen, or maybe they will use a suboptimal setting. Most of the time the charger only supports certain combinations of volts and amps, and the device will only support certain other combinations. Well, the computer and charger negotiate power using the PD protocol (of which there are several versions).
